I live in New Zealand and paid 1129 NZD for an iPhone 3G 16GB White.  So far I am up to my 4th replacement for things like light leakages etc.  Its normal to expect perfection from a $1129NZD device.  Seriously.  Even at $199USD thats enough to just "make do" with what you have got.  I get really really frustrated and annoyed at people who just say "nothing is perfect" and "you are using up stock for people who want to buy one."  And to those people who think replacing it uses up stock:  You are doing a dis-service to everyone if you do not replace it.  Replacing it alerts apple to the issue so they can fix it.  Im sure people wouldnt mind waiting a couple of days to get a good iPhone 3G instead of being unhappy with their device the whole time they own it.  This is why apple have support forums; they want people to alert apple and others of issues.

Google Iphone Light leakage problem. Most of the Iphones have a light leakage problem. Yes there are some out there that do not have this problem but most of the ones I have seen do.
